Hannah Vogel Teaches Music

Hi! I’m Hannah and I teach music lessons in Denver, Colorado.

After singing, studying and playing music my whole life, I started teaching piano students in 2017. Because music has so deeply enriched my life, it brings me joy and gratification to share these skills with others. With my students I focus on fostering an enjoyment of the instrument and teaching a solid foundation on which to build future musical adventures.

FAQ

What ages do you teach?

As young as age 6 and in first grade.

What curriculum do you use?

I use the Alfred prep course, basic course and adult course books to start, and then continue with intermediate level classical pieces, music theory study, and playing from chords and by ear. If you would like to read about the Alfred curriculum you can click here.

How do lessons work?

Lessons are weekly and 30 minutes long. I teach out of my home in the Clayton neighborhood of Denver. I teach three sessions a year, two longer fall and spring sessions and a shorter summer session. Students sign up for one session at a time.

Do you have recitals?

Yes, twice a year at the end of the fall and spring sessions, which typically puts them in May and December. My heartfelt goal is for each recital to be a warm and approachable space for students to perform and share their music with others, often a very joyful experience.

Do you teach any other instruments?

I recently started teaching ukulele as well.

What is included in the cost of a session?

Each student takes 17 half-hour lessons and participates in a recital at the end of the session. (Summer sessions are shorter and without a recital.)

Can lessons be rescheduled?

If a student misses a lesson due to a holiday, illness or travel, I try my best to accommodate a rescheduled lesson during my teaching hours. Each student is allowed to take up to 17 lessons per session.

How much should students practice?

The more practice sessions a student has throughout the week, the better - several shorter practice sessions are better than one long one. It’s helpful for students to have a goal of a total number of practice minutes per week (for instance, 30 minutes for beginners and more as you advance) and then break that total number into as many practice sessions as they can.
